Provide a range of culturally appropriate andcomprehensive primary health care services to clients of Danila Dilba HealthService.
Who are we?
Established in 1991, Danila Dilba HealthService (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed toproviding culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care servicesand community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the YilliRreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.
About the role
You will behighly motivated and work confidently as an independent practitioner whilstcontributing to the provision of health services as part of a multidisciplinaryteam. You will assist in facilitating the health service to provide ahigh-quality standard of primary health care.
Responsibilities:
* Provide clinicalservices to clients in the acute setting while applying the principles ofchronic disease management to appropriate cases.
* Participate inprimary health care service delivery and development.
* Participate inscreening, recall, follow up and referral processes.
* Participate in GPRegistrar, Aboriginal Health Worker, medical student and nurse supervision,education, and staff development sessions to upgrade skills.
* Utilise adult healthcheck assessments and care planning for all clients.
To besuccessful you will need:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Specialist General Practitioner
* Fellowship with either RACGP or ACRRM
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse cultural and social groups
* In-depth understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture, self-determination, and the challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing and prioritising tasks
* Proven ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams within complex, cross-cultural environments
* High proficiency in written and digital communication, particularly in report preparation, confidentiality, and professional correspondence
* Demonstratedunderstanding of the principles of Primary Health Care within IndigenousHealth.
* Previous experiencein delivering primary health care services in the unique primary careenvironment of the Northern Territory.
* Accreditation orexperience as a supervisor of GP registrars.
* The ability to useCommunicare.
* Demonstratedcompetence in working with and understanding Medicare and the PracticeIncentive Program.
* Understanding ofAboriginal Health Workers Career Structure/Competencies
What we offer:
* 6 weeks annualleave per annum
* 5 days paid leaveduring end of year shutdown period (on top of annual leave)
* Salary packagingof up to $15,990 per annum
Employment with DDHS is subject to a policecheck, a current NT working with children's card, CPR certificate, and fullvaccination against COVID-19, or an exemption as listed on the AustralianImmunisation Register (AIR).
