About the Role

Our organization is seeking a compassionate and resilient casual Mental Health Support Worker to work on a 24/7 rotating roster within our Housing with Support residential service. This role plays an integral part in providing positive person-centred, recovery-oriented supports to clients to achieve their wellbeing goals, develop capacity and life skills, strengthen social connections, enhance support networks and grow confidence to live independently.

The successful applicant will be working within a multidisciplinary team offering specialized psychosocial support. They will provide personalized 1:1 support, personal care, shared supports and group activities based on strengths and goals identified in an individual's recovery plan.

This role requires delivering high-quality services, facilitating positive educational and social experiences, supporting clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery. Additionally, they will collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a coordinated, integrated response to client's recovery goals.


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
* Support clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering specialized psychosocial support.
* Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.
* Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a coordinated, integrated response to client's recovery goals.
* Provide personal care - assist clients with personal care tasks where required.


Requirements

* Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
* Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
* Ability to provide information and mentoring to build capability, establish social relationships, create community networks and access to relevant services.
* Experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health is desirable.
* Understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
