The Opportunity
We are seeking talented Graduate Software Engineers to join the Boeing Defence Australia Graduate Program in January 2026. This program offers graduates a permanent full-time position, providing a solid career foundation from day one.
This Brisbane-based opportunity ensures you will be using your software engineering skills to make a meaningful contribution developing capabilities in support of our National Intelligence Community partner the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). You will join a high-functioning, motivated team exploring technologies and solutions unique to this niche intelligence environment. As a Graduate Software Engineer you will:
* Write well-tested and simple code to solve complex problems
* Design and build high-quality systems with the latest technologies
* Contribute to agile ceremonies, actively participate in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other team meetings
* Pair program with your teammates, review pull requests, and provide constructive feedback
* Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
* Develop and support building pipelines and infrastructure, and own your systems in production
* Use written, verbal, and visual communication to facilitate technical discussion and share ideas
* Play an active role in building an incredible team culture of trust, collaboration, and psychological safety
Education
Applicants must hold a tertiary degree qualification in engineering, computer science or information technology (or have an anticipated graduation date before January 2026).
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements. This role requires the successful applicant to obtain an Australian Government POSITIVE VETTING Security Clearance. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.

Our 24-month Graduate Program is designed to equip you with essential skills for a successful transition into full-time work, while also fostering your growth into an experienced professional. Throughout the program, you will engage in professional learning and development, as well as social and collaborative opportunities to expand your Boeing network.
While the Graduate Program has defined learning objectives and a structured framework, your individual journey will be tailored in collaboration with your manager, shaped by business needs and your personal professional development goals. To enhance your exposure and learning, you will remain within one business unit for the entire duration of the program, allowing you to immerse yourself in team dynamics and project work. Over these 24 months, you will not only acquire the technical skills necessary for your role but also develop the interpersonal skills that are vital for a fulfilling career.
