About the role
Provide active support to people with disability living in Malvern East. The people you will be supporting require High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) and so, to provide best support the successful candidate have previous experience with HIDPAs as well as other areas of disability support work.
You will be a dedicated and compassionate support worker who is passionate about active support and helping people achieve their goals and dreams. You must be able to commit to the set permanent part time roster below which includes sleepover shifts.Roster Split 44:00/40:30
Key responsibilities
* Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
* Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
* Maintain thorough record keeping
* Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
* Advocate for client choice and control
Skills & Experience
* Experience with High Intensity Daily Personal Activities.
* A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
* Ability to develop a positive relationship with clients and to support their Individual Personal Plan.
* Confidence and experience in providing personal care
* Experience in manual handling
* Cert IV in Disability or similar
* A current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate.
* A current unrestricted Driver Licence and willingness to drive a company van.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years.
