Our client, a national manufacturing and construction Company, continues to strategically grow their manufacturing and distribution (including installation & construction of small to medium sized projects < $20M) business throughout Australia. Our client's focus is to continue leveraging their design, construction, and manufacturing capability, develop new and innovative products and solutions for their customers across Australia, drive quality and innovation in their market space, and apply commercial strategic initiatives to further enhance their positioning and capabilities in the marketplace.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager and collaborating with key Stakeholders across this National business (including State Managers and state based construction teams), your focus will be to ensure that all construction processes and practices are being followed, provision of high level support on all aspects relating to construction practices including contract reviews, audits and compliance, reviewing risk mitigation and legislation in conjunction with legal advisors, monitoring all worker compliance, safety and insurance requirements (ie contractor insurances etc), liaising with the technical services department on new or proposed installation details, providing advice, problem solving and support generally – and developing & implementing continuous improvements across the board. You will be involved in utilizing the companies' systems and reporting methods, including using LinkSafe, Fastfields, Spreadsheets etc…
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Commercial and Industrial project management experience on small to medium sized projects.
* Current understanding of Australian construction practices
* Trade qualifications essential with Builders license.
* Appropriate Work Certificates / Cards ie Elevated work Platform Association of Australia Yellow card, First Aid certificate etc…
* Strong problem-solving capabilities
* General understanding of legal contracts and compliance matters as it relates to construction projects.
* Able to work across a national business in a matrix structure
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* IT literate (Excel, ERP, Building / construction Systems ie LinkSafe etc…
* Able to travel nationally as required.
* be proactive, able to self-manage, but most of all be able to apply practical and common-sense solutions, meet timelines, and have a flexible professional attitude of "getting things done"
Salary commensurate with experience.
