About the Role
Join CoDesign Care as a full-time, part-time, or casual Support Worker based in Engadine, NSW. In this crucial role, you will join a small, dedicated team providing high-quality, person-centred care and support within the context of a SIL home. With a focus on building meaningful connections and providing genuine care, you will empower clients to lead fulfilling lives and actively participate in their local community.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
* Provide companionship and engage clients in social, recreational, and community-based activities
* Advocate for clients' rights and preferences, and collaborate with their support networks
* Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills
* Maintain detailed client records and contribute to the development of care plans
What We're Looking For
* A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
* Demonstrated experience in providing person-centred care and support to individuals with disabilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
* Genuine empathy, patience, and a commitment to empowering and advocating for clients
* Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the unique needs and preferences of each client
* As our clients love the outdoors and enjoy bushwalks, a moderate level of physical ability is required
* Practical experience implementing behaviour support plans
* Knowledge of restrictive practice safeguards under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
* Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and maintain participant dignity
* A valid driver's license
* NDIS Worker Check and National Police Check required prior to commencement. WWCC preferred
* Candidates must have valid Australian work visa or appropriate work rights
