We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our Head Office team in Werribee.
This role is ideal for someone with NDIS or community services finance experience who enjoys working autonomously while contributing to a growing organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, NDIS billing and claims, accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, and compliance-related financial reporting.
This is a part-time role (10 hours per week) with flexibility and the opportunity for additional hours as the organisation grows.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Prepare and submit NDIS claims through Xero or approved systems
Ensure billing aligns with NDIS Pricing Arrangements and funding rules
Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, and debtor follow-ups
Process accounts payable, supplier invoices, and reimbursements
Assist with payroll processing and SCHADS Award compliance
Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations
Prepare BAS, payroll tax, superannuation, and reporting documentation
Support month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Maintain audit-ready financial and compliance records
Provide professional reception and front-of-house support when required
Liaise with participants, plan managers, auditors, and external stakeholders
About You
You will bring:
A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (Cert IV, Diploma, or higher)
Proven experience in bookkeeping or finance administration
NDIS, disability, aged care, or community services experience (highly regarded)
Strong knowledge of BAS, GST, payroll tax, and superannuation
Experience using Xero and payroll systems
Understanding of SCHADS Award requirements
Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and time management skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
Mandatory Requirements
Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check (where applicable)
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Quality, Safety and You)
