Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join our team in Melbourne. As a seasoned consultant/contract lawyer or a lawyer looking for a fresh approach, you will have the opportunity to work with a top-tier firm and be part of a supportive team.
About the Role:
* You will have specialist expertise in employment law across a broad range of issues including employee relations, employment litigation and investigations;
* You will be familiar with safety law including disciplinary issues, termination of employment, complex staff complaints, industrial disputes, enterprise bargaining and grievance handling;
* You will have prior experience and exposure dealing with large scale complex remediation projects and/or payroll remediation and compliance programs;
* You will be experienced in advising on compliance with Work Health Safety laws and anti-discrimination matters;
* You will be experienced dealing with employment regulators including the Fair Work Ombudsman and IR Commission.
Key Responsibilities:
* You will need the ability to monitor legislative changes and industry best practices, recommending updates to policies and procedures;
* You will have experience managing complex employment law matters in large organisations and have the ability to influence, negotiate and simplify complex legal matters;
* You will be comfortable liaising with multiple internal stakeholders and teams;
* You will have the ability to manage external facing issues;
* You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience;
* You will be able to hit the ground running, work autonomously and prioritise.
