They are driving innovation and investment in Australia's energy future, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and sustainability.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesLead strategic planning to assess network capabilities, identify constraints, and develop solutions for future electricity demand.Deliver power system studies using simulation tools (e.g. PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD) and translate complex analysis into actionable insights.Manage non-network solutions to reduce demand and defer capital investment, applying strong commercial and regulatory acumen.Prepare and communicate regulatory investment proposals, planning reports (DAPR, TCPR), and compliance documentation.Provide technical leadership on network augmentation, bushfire safety compliance (REFCL), and contingency planning.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g. AEMO, DEECA, AER) to shape network strategy and ensure regulatory alignment.Support continuous improvement, innovation, and safety across planning processes and engineering practices.The Successful ApplicantSuccessful CandidateA qualified electrical engineer with extensive experience in electricity network planning and asset management.Proficient in power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, or PSCAD, with Python programming skills highly desirable.Strong understanding of the National Electricity Rules, regulatory frameworks, and energy market dynamics.Skilled in stakeholder engagement, including regulators, government bodies, and internal teams.Experienced in developing regulatory investment proposals, planning reports, and business cases.Knowledgeable in network protection, control devices, and bushfire mitigation technologies (e.g. REFCL).
