A renewable energy infrastructure developer is entering an exciting commercialisation phase and seeking a Brisbane based, Commercial Manager to help shape their future.
This is a genuine opportunity to bring commercial discipline and strategic thinking to a business at an inflection point, working across the full spectrum from market fundamentals and business development through to project commercials and customer engagement.
You'll be the commercial voice across diverse workstreams, ensuring technical ambition aligns with market reality. You'll engage with CEOs of major landholding entities, government stakeholders, international customers, and sophisticated investors, while maintaining hands on involvement in critical detail.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you'll be responsible for:
* Strategy & Market Fundamentals: Ensuring strategic alignment across business and project levels, maintaining a strong view of market fundamentals, and building clear understanding of how markets work across different use cases
* Business Development: Navigating early-stage customer and partner discussions, managing the BD pipeline, identifying revenue opportunities, and determining how to mobilise and share risk across project stages
* Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinating and maintaining presence with internal stakeholders, government and key market opportunities with potential customers and partnerships.
* Project Commercials: Playing a strong role across technical, engineering, land approvals, and all project disciplines, ensuring commercial prerequisites are met before progressing through project gates
* Commercial Analysis: Driving assessments across different scenarios, working with economists to frame analysis, understand key value levers, and interrogate project models
ABOUT YOU
* Broad, hands on experience across negotiation, contract negotiation, and documentation
* Project developer background with demonstrated ability to ensure commercial prerequisites are met before project gates
* Understanding of market fundamentals and how they drive strategy
* Comfortable & ability to thrive in a fast paced, often ambiguous environment
* Analytical capability to interrogate financial models and understand commercial value levers
* Strong stakeholder management skills with confidence to engage at all levels
* Collaborative approach, happy to be hands on, and focused on outcomes
* The strength to push back when technical ambition isn't supported by commercial reality
Experience in early-stage negotiations or working with renewable developers would be valuable but isn't essential.
