Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage end-to-end recruitment activities while providing Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) support and contribute to HR-related projects as may be required.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
Support end-to-end recruitment for white-collar and blue-collar roles.
Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements.
Prepare job advertisements, shortlist candidates, coordinate interviews, and conduct reference checks.
Manage pre-employment processes including medicals, background checks, and onboarding.
Support mobilisation and demobilisation planning for project-based employees.
HR Advisory & Employee Relations
Provide practical ER/IR advice to managers across projects.
Support performance reviews, probation processes, and performance improvement plans.
Conduct and support workplace investigations and disciplinary processes.
Prepare HR documentation including warnings, outcome letters, and employment variations.
Resolve Fair Work matters where required.
Assist with interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements and relevant employment legislation.
General HR
Support policy implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with remuneration, benefits, and employee lifecycle processes.
Maintain accurate HR records and reporting.
Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with company values and safety standards.
Skills and Experiences: About You
Bachelor's degree or Cert IV in Human Resources Management
Minimum 3 years' experience in both high-volume recruitment and HR advisory role in a fast-track project environment.
Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation and ER/IR practices.
Experience within mining, construction, or project-based environments (preferred).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Collaborative team player who actively shares workloads and contributes to collective outcomes.
Exhibits excellent interpersonal capabilities, with strong communication, effective stakeholder engagement, and well-developed problem-solving skills.
Proactive in approach, identifying issues early and providing practical, value-adding solutions.
Demonstrates the ability to quickly grasp new concepts, systems, processes and retain information effectively.
Applies strong critical thinking skills, supported by sound judgement and practical common sense.
Demonstrates the confidence to appropriately challenge compliance-related matters, applying independent judgement to question decisions and mitigate potential risk.
