About the role
Your focus as Head Housekeeper is to oversee the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service in support of the hospitality services function to ensure a high-quality and comprehensive care service is delivered to residents. Other responsibilities include carrying out cleaning duties, preparing orders for approval, monitoring standards of work, and supervising and directing the housekeeping team. You will demonstrate compassion, commitment to high-quality service, and the ability to lead and develop teams.
Main responsibilities
- Carrying out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description.
- Preparing orders for Home Manager approval for all cleaning materials with approved suppliers, while complying with procedures to maintain stock levels and control costs, ensuring quality products within budget.
- Monitoring standards of work of the housekeeping and laundry team to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Supervising and directing the housekeeping team, providing instruction and demonstrations to recent staff on cleaning tasks and materials.

Requirements / About you

- Experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety, particularly moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.
- Demonstrated compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
- Ability to lead, supervise, and develop teams.
