**APS6 - Copy Editor and Technical Writer**

**The Organisation**:
This Government body works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.
**About the role**:
The **APS6 Copy Editor and Technical Writer** is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support, and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the organisation’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”.
- Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: _
- Copy editing and proofreading corporate documents in line with the Australian Government Style Manual and internal style guides and standards, ensuring content accuracy and writing style consistency.
- Overseeing quality assurance of corporate documents ensuring they follow the organisations standards for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Conducting internal research to articulate business objectives through corporate reporting document narratives.
- Identifying opportunities to drive the adoption of recent processes focused on continuous improvement of consistency and accuracy in corporate writing.
- Creating and updating technical guidance documents, procedural guides, project plans and governance frameworks.
- Regularly conducting reviews and evaluation of published content to ensure relevancy.
- Creating communication materials focusing on user experience, ensuring that complex information is presented and meets plain English and accessibility guidelines for diverse audiences.
- Assisting in the management of reports processes and communications outputs.
**About You**:
- A strong aligned working history with Government experience.
- Ability to prioritise and possess high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience editing, proofreading, and writing for corporate documents.
- Highly developed editorial, grammatical and comprehension skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and pro-active.
- Ability to work within a team environment where expertise can be developed and appropriately shared.
**Application Requirements**:
- Applicants must hold **Australian citizenship**.
- Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal **Police Check** and completion of the Agency’s screening checks, including; Working With Children Check. NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Hold an active **Baseline Security Clearance** or be willing to obtain.
- Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance._
