About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified professional to join our Maritime team in Garden Island, Sydney.
Working both on the naval ships, as well as in the workshops, you will be assisting in planning, supervising and undertaking the installation, repair, modification, commissioning and fabrication of steel metal components and associated materials.
In this challenging and rewarding role, you will be you will be assisting with the development of skills of team members, including Apprentices.
Key Responsibilities: Manufacture all types of sheet metal work from drawings in various types of metals Plan and coordinate tasks in conjunction with manager and team members, to meet schedule and budget requirements Ensure work conforms to specifications and appropriate standards Communicate complex trade information regarding progress of the job to other personnel and customers About you: Experience in all aspects of manufacturing and repair methods Willing to undertake multi-skilled activities in all aspects of ship repair and maintenance work Sound verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of Welding processes would be an advantage A strong commitment towards maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working setting Good to Know Working within a Defence precinct, a Defence security clearance is required for this role where applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
