Our client, Dalpark Pty Ltd, is currently seeking experienced Bakers/Pastrycooks to join the team at Cruz The Bakehouse, a well-established and highly regarded bakery located in Bundaberg, Queensland. Renowned for its gourmet fresh bread, pastries, cakes, slices, pies, muffins, and more, Cruz The Bakehouse also features a vibrant café menu including hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, burgers, and salads.
These are full-time positions offering an annual salary of $75,000–$85,000 AUD plus superannuation, negotiable for the right candidates based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients to produce a wide range of breads, pastries, and baked goods.
* Glaze buns and decorate cakes, pastries, and slices using icings, creams, and toppings.
* Monitor ingredient and supply stock levels and place orders in line with budget and operational needs.
* Participate in new product development, contributing to menu updates and seasonal pastry offerings.
* Ensure strict compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations at all stages of production.
* Operate, clean, and maintain commercial bakery equipment, ensuring it is used safely and effectively.
* Monitor dough development, proofing, baking times, and product quality throughout production.
* Maintain accurate production records, batch information, and daily operational schedules.
* Keep the bakery workspace clean, sanitised, and well-organised at all times.
* Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and mentoring of junior bakery staff as required.
Requirements:
* Trade qualifications in baking, pastry-making, or culinary arts.
* Minimum of 2–3 years' professional experience in a similar bakery or pastry setting.
* Strong eye for detail and creativity in presentation.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Availability for split shifts, including weekend work.
* Willingness to relocate to Bundaberg, if based elsewhere.
