Job Description
Do you have a passion for providing assistance to youth in need and at risk? We are currently seeking a creative, caring, and patient part-time Youth Worker to join our client's team located in Seymour. Our client seeks someone whose objective is to enhance the wellbeing of young people in the community. It's an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
In your role, you will establish good rapport and effective relationships with young people and work to increase their confidence and ambition. At times, you will simply be talking to youth and helping them participate in various activities such as arts, music, or sports. Other times, you will assess the needs of the young people in the community and match them with programs related to certain areas (examples: health and fitness, drugs and alcohol, relationships, bullying, education, homelessness, mental health, etc.). From behavioural issues and teenage pregnancy to family issues and a lack of confidence, your goal will be to ensure the youth are heard and supported, and that they have everything they need to continue on in making a positive contribution to society. When needed, you will partner with other professionals and organisations to ensure the youth you assist can get the help they need.
Position Overview
* Provide high-quality compassionate mentorship, support, and coaching to youth in the community
* Enhance the wellbeing of youth by assessing their needs and ensursing they are given the tools needed to thrive
* Work in collaboration and partnership with professionals and other organisations as needed
* Manage unanticipated events or unstable situations in a timely professional manner
* Organise your time and resources based on the individual needs of each youth
* Participate in light administrative duties and project planning
Job Type: Part Time
Hours: Various hours between Noon – 9:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday; Average 25 hours per week

Qualifications
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
* Prior experience working with young people and families
* Current Police Clearance
* Ability to adapt and work effectively in a variety of settings
* Strong interpersonal and human relationship skills while being attentive to the needs of others
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated project management skills
* Strong problem solving skills
