Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeA$86,887.00/yr - A$93,066.00/yrThe RoleThe Department of Defence seeks a motivated and organised APS5 Quality Assurance Officer to support the Directorate of Health Research team.As an APS 5 Quality Assurance Officer within the Directorate of Health Research, you will work on a diverse range of tasks including being the point of contact for all things finance and budget to help the team track, forecast and plan expenditure across the budget cycle. You will be involved in contracting and procurement activities, travel arrangements, recruitment and electronic record-keeping. You will work within the Business Management team supporting an APS 6 Project Manager and EL 1 Business Manager, as well as being an integral team member supporting the Directorate where needed.Under limited direction, your role is customer-focused and include:Assisting the APS 6 maintain the Directorate’s budget and financial performance activities across the budget cycle, budget bids, payment of invoices and tracking expenditure.Analyse and interrogate financial data and prepare regular and ‘on demand’ financial reports for the Director, to assist reporting activities and responses.Assisting with end-to-end procurement activities, including liaison with procurement experts, raising Purchase Orders against Outline Agreements and ensuring excellent file management is maintained.Assist with procurement and contract management activities as needed.Assist with domestic and international travel processes where needed.About our TeamJoint Health Command (JHC) is responsible for the delivery of military medicine and healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF). Through the delivery of best practice health services, JHC enables a healthy, ready, and supported Force from enlistment through to transition.As part of Defence People Group, we make a direct contribution to the ADF’s operational capability and provide crucial support to the warfighter. Health Protection and Policy Branch, has a broad range of functions - including health surveillance, health research, development of prevention and health promotion programs, health policy and occupational psychology that support the Defence Health system and the health of ADF members.The Directorate of Health Research conducts, commissions and facilitates health research and ensures that health research meets the strategic priorities of Defence. DHR works in partnership with internal and external civilian and military researchers and has a philosophy to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders throughout the research process to ensure outcomes are relevant and utilised to inform Defence policy or practice.DHR is also responsible for cultivating sound research governance to ensure that health research remains high quality, and conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, best practice and ethical principles.Our Ideal CandidateTo be successful in the role, you will need to be a team focused individual who is comfortable working across a diverse range of tasks, and has strong experience in understanding, managing and reporting on finances, assisting with contract and procurement activities, and is able to establish and maintain strong relationships within a network of internal and external stakeholders.The successful candidate will be a results oriented self-starter, have good judgement and the ability to work independently or under limited guidance.
