About the role:
As a store person, you will be responsible for the efficient day to day handling of the warehouse, logistics and stock – receipting and dispatching. This role will also be required to coordinate plant & equipment maintenance, contractor coordination, calibration equipment and some planning tasks. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing and Facilities teams, as well as external suppliers and contractors, to ensure operational requirements are met safely, accurately and on time.
Key responsibilities:
* Safely receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch materials and goods
* Operate forklifts and reach trucks to unload, transfer and store goods
* Complete receipting and Goods Receipt Advices (GRAs) within required timeframes
* Manage non‐conforming goods, quarantine stock and returns to vendor (RTV)
* Deliver bulky parts and inventory to operational locations as required
* Maintain accurate records using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
* Support audits, quality inspections and continuous improvement initiatives
* Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Comply with Downer HSE procedures, rail safety systems and work instructions
About you:
You are a reliable and organised team player who thrives in a fast‐paced warehouse environment. You take pride in your work, communicate clearly and understand the importance of safety, accuracy and teamwork.
* Current LF Forklift Licence advantageous
* Proven experience working in a warehouse environment
* Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
