Medical Assistant - Citizens Convenient Care South - Days (FT)
Records vital signs, gathers patient medical history, prepares exam rooms and patients for examination, provides condition‐specific education, and coordinates care under the guidance of the provider.
* Provide safe and effective patient care in the clinical setting.
* Prepare treatment room for patient examination.
* Interview patients, obtain vital signs and document information in the patient's chart.
* Triage patient phone calls, consult with provider, respond to patient questions, and notify patient of test results as directed.
* Demonstrate critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‐paced environment.
* Provide condition‐specific education, and care coordination, under the guidance of the provider.
* Conduct inventories and order medical supplies. Keep all areas stocked and neat in appearance.
* Perform EKGs with precision and accuracy as directed by provider.
* Complete documentation associated with daily responsibilities.
* Adheres to organization‐wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
* Day‐to‐day performance complies with the hospital's Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
* Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
* Performs within the professional Scope of Practice at all times.
* Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
Preferred: Current certification as a Medical Assistant.
Experience
Required: At least one year of experience in the healthcare field.
Preferred: Training and dedicated experience related to the clinic specialty.
Special Skills and Abilities
Required: Basic computer skills, ability to effectively communicate, and a willingness to travel to satellite clinics.
Preferred: Familiar with medical terminology, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with an electronic medical record platform.
Licensure / Certification Requirements
Required: BLS (CPR).
Preferred: Current certification as a Medical Assistant.
