A bit about the role
This is your chance to make an impact by helping deliver projects that shape where people live, work, and connect.
You will work within a project team to coordinate activities, manage documentation, track progress, and support decision-making. The role requires a practical understanding of project delivery processes, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work within established governance, safety, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Support senior project managers with planning, coordination, and regular reporting across multiple projects
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, including business cases, project briefs, schedules, risk registers, and progress reports
* Maintain accurate project records using document management systems (such as Aconex) and in line with Council policies and governance requirements
* Assist with procurement activities, including preparing tender documentation, managing tender processes, and participating in evaluation panels
* Monitor project budgets, cashflows, program timelines, risk registers, and provide monthly updates to senior staff
* Support stakeholder engagement by coordinating communication with consultants, contractors, internal teams, and community participants
What You'll Bring
* A tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in project management, building and construction, architecture, engineering, or a related field
* Working knowledge of project management processes, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and reporting
* Experience managing contracts, project records, and technical documentation
* Knowledge of construction processes and relevant regulatory frameworks, including the Building Code of Australia
* The ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
* The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining accurate records and attention to detail
Desirable
* Formal project management certification (such as PMP or PRINCE2)
* Experience using Microsoft 365 tools, including MS Project
* Experience supporting capital works projects within a government or public sector environment
