About Banyo Cafe & Bar
Banyo Cafe and Bar is owned and operated by the University of Queensland Union. We run a variety of outlets and services across UQ's St Lucia, Gatton, Herston, and Dutton Park campuses, with Banyo Cafe & Bar being our only outlet that is located at a different university
About The Role
We are looking for a truly exceptional Barista/ Allrounder to join our fun and energetic team at Banyo Cafe & Bar. This role works under the direction of the supervisor to skillfully make all coffee and associated beverages to a high-quality standard in a timely manner. Additionally, this role will involve delivering excellent customer service and general duties, such as cleaning service areas and equipment, food preparation, stock rotation, and assisting with stocktake.
The role also involves:
* Adding value and generating sales through up selling of food and beverage items;
* General café duties, including cleaning of service areas and equipment;
* Stock rotation and control; and
* Working with a fun and collaborative team
* Strong knowledge of WHS practices
* Impeccable food hygiene standards
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 2 years' coffee barista experience;
* You create exceptional coffee and work with specialty coffee and latte art;
* Solid working knowledge of dialing in, yield, dose, texturing, machine cleaning and maintenance;
* Ability to work well under pressure with a positive attitude in a fast paced and high demanding environment;
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and;
* Strong knowledge and experience in Food and Work Health Safety.
