Offer description

We are seeking to appoint skilled and enthusiastic instrumental teachers to work in one of our thriving and vibrant Saturday Centres across Northamptonshire. We are actively looking for those with guitar, keyboard, drums and/or early years experience.

Employer: Northamptonshire Music & Performing Arts Trust

Location: Northampton

Closing Date: 7th April 2026 at 12:00

Teacher of Rock and Pop

Currently we are seeking Rock and Pop practitioners for two of our Centres. We are seeking individuals with Rock and Pop experience and enthusiasm for exploring a wide repertoire with our students. Basic knowledge of guitar chords and drumming will be required but we are particularly looking for individuals with guitar experience to work with our young guitar players at these Centres. There may be scope to build on this appointment in the future and deliver teaching and projects for NMPAT in the working week. The capacity to deliver other teaching on other instruments and in other formats would also be welcomed.

Teacher of Early Years

Our Early Years offer across all the Centres has grown rapidly in recent months and we are keen to expand our team so that we can continue to meet demand and offer Early Years classes in all our Centres. The sessions cover the early music and performing arts developmental skills with a strong focus on singing and provide opportunities for children to explore different instruments. Experience of working in an Early Years setting is desirable but not essential.

Northamptonshire Music & Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) aims to provide music and performing arts opportunities for young people to develop their skills and confidence. We are a charitable trust whose core values are to Inspire, Nurture and Excel. Our staff are highly skilled and motivated practitioners who routinely demonstrate their commitment to these values.

Our Centres form an integral part of our Music and Performing Arts pathway: they provide children across the county with the opportunity to take their first steps in music making; enhance the learning that takes place in their individual or group lessons in school; allow them to learn to play and perform with others in a range of groups and ensembles. Each Centre offers a diverse range of sessions from Early Years drama through to brass ensembles and ska groups! Find out more about our Centres offer .

NMPAT is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. All posts are subject to enhanced DBS and barred list clearance, a Prohibition check, identity check, confirmation of the right to work in the UK, health assessment, and satisfactory references. References will always be taken up in advance of the interview, and we may contact other previous employers for references.

NMPAT values diversity and particularly welcomes applications from under-represented groups of the community. To address barriers, we will consider reasonable adjustments and access requirements throughout the application and interview process. Please alert us about anything we can do to make your application and interview process as accessible as possible.
