ASX Listed Energy Company. Based near Hwera at the Kupe Natural Gas Processing Plant, New Zealand. A hands-on role supporting safe and efficient plant performance. Beach Energy is seeking a Maintenance I&E Technician to provide critical electrical and instrumentation maintenance support across our New Zealand operations. This role is central to ensuring plant reliability, asset integrity and that production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
About the Role
Reporting to the Integrated Works Superintendent, you will play a key role in maintaining plant and equipment across production, storage and operational facilities to support delivery of production plans. You will carry out planned and corrective maintenance, contribute to shutdowns and projects, and provide technical expertise across electrical and instrumentation systems. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Reliability & Maintenance and other stakeholders, you will help ensure work is executed safely, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment, systems and installations through planned and scheduled maintenance
* Supporting preventative maintenance planning and continuous improvement of maintenance programs
* Providing technical advice and expertise on I&E matters to the wider team
* Performing fault finding, repairs and troubleshooting activities
* Supporting plant shutdowns, inspections and project activities to ensure delivery to schedule and budget
* Assisting with control systems infrastructure, providing field-based technical support
* Updating maintenance systems and completing work order close-outs and documentation
* Supervising contractors on site when required
* Taking personal responsibility for their own safety and that of others, ensuring work environment practices are safe
* Identifying and implementing improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency and safety
* Participating in an on-call roster
About You
* You bring a strong safety mindset, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across teams.
* Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within oil and gas or similar industries
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
* Experience working with control systems (Foundation Fieldbus and Delta-V advantageous)
* Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, documentation and procedures
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
* A proactive, flexible approach with a focus on continuous improvement
* A New Zealand Electrical Registration, relevant technical qualifications (IMC Level 4), and a current drivers licence are essential.
* Hazardous Area endorsement and offshore certifications (e.g. BOSIET, PTW, HV switching) would be highly regarded. You must have the right to work in New Zealand.
