We're looking for a strong, values-led Café Manager to steward the space, lead the team, and help shape the next chapter of this much-loved local institution.

This role is for someone who can hold people and standards at the same time — who leads with clarity, calm authority, and heart.

About the Role

As Café Manager, you are the anchor of the floor and the culture. You lead from presence, not micromanagement. You see the big picture while staying connected to the daily details that make a café exceptional.

You will work to:

* And ensure the café continues to thrive as both a business and a community space

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

* Lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse café team
* Set clear expectations while fostering warmth, accountability, and pride
* Model calm, grounded leadership — especially in busy moments
* Build a culture where people feel safe, capable, and motivated to do great work

Operations & Standards

* Oversee daily café operations, service flow, and floor leadership
* Maintain exceptional standards of service, food, coffee, and cleanliness
* Manage rosters, staffing levels, and smooth handovers
* Ensure systems are followed and continuously improved

Vision & Growth

* Bring ideas, initiative, and forward thinking to the role
* Support menu execution, service evolution, and guest experience refinement
* Be a trusted partner in shaping how Two Doors Down grows — without losing its soul

People & Performance

* Train, support, and develop team members
* Address issues early and clearly, with kindness and firmness
* Recruit and onboard new staff when required
* Create an environment where people want to stay and grow

Business Awareness

* Understand margins, waste, and cost control
* Support ordering, stock management, and supplier relationships
* Care for the business as if it were your own

About You

You are:

* An experienced café or hospitality manager (leadership experience essential)
* Confident making decisions and holding boundaries
* Naturally organised, emotionally intelligent, and people-savvy
* Warm, steady, and respected — not reactive or ego-driven
* Able to see both the human and the commercial sides of hospitality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,049.49 – $99,000.00 per year
