Job Overview
Francis Venues is looking for an experienced Qualified Chef to join our team at the Golden Point Hotel in Ballarat. The role involves developing menus, preparing food, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Assist in menu planning, daily specials, and prep lists for kitchen crew.
* Manage food costing, inventory, and kitchen stock rotation.
* Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and storage.
* Ensure compliance with health codes and food safety regulations.
* Work efficiently under pressure, often on weekends, public holidays and a 7‐day rotating roster.
* Work well within a team, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years experience as a chef in a fast‐paced commercial kitchen.
* Fully qualified as a chef with a valid Safe Food Handling certificate.
* Strong understanding of OS&H and food safety.
* Ability to work under pressure and on a rotating roster.
* High attention to detail and a passion for delivering excellent customer experiences.
