**A little about the role**
Reporting to the Team Manager, the Family Services Practitioner will play a key role in promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people. You will work closely with families, offering early intervention and prevention support to reduce risks to children, strengthen family capabilities, and improve outcomes for both children and their families.
Key responsibilities:
- Actively engage children, youth, and families through home visits, phone contact, and meetings.
- Provide targeted support to priority groups, including infants, young children, adolescents, people with disabilities, and those experiencing family violence.
- Evaluate the needs, risks, and safety of families, and develop targeted, time-limited goals and interventions.
- Ensure all safety checks are completed promptly and in accordance with relevant procedures and guidelines.
The base salary for this position is $88,090.08 - $94,788.72 (based on 1.0 FTE) + super + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
- Recognised Social Work Qualification (or similar).
- Proven track record in working with and or on behalf of children, young people, and families.
- Strong understanding of Child and Family Service, Child Protection and Court Orders.
- Experience in conducting comprehensive assessments to create, implement, monitor, and evaluate service delivery and support plans.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing parenting capacity.
- Strong ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports, letters, and memos.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks in Child Protection services
