Working with an experienced wildlife health team at a purpose-built wildlife hospital is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of animals.
The role involves providing medical care for a variety of non-domestic hoof-stock, including giraffe, zebra, hippo, deer, antelope, elephants, and rhinoceros. This includes performing wildlife triage, treatment, and rehabilitation as well as consulting with wildlife carers to provide expert advice on animal care.
The zoo provides a free veterinary service for sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife, treating over 700 animals each year. The wildlife health team works together to develop and implement conservation programs that benefit both local wildlife and visitors to the zoo.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional animal care services while promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues from various departments, including veterinarians, curators, and animal handlers.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal welfare, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
