Study work orders to understand the quantity and type of ice cream to be manufactured each day.
- Ensure that sufficient ingredients are available at the time of production.
- Liaise with store managers or vendors to acquire ice cream mixes and other ingredients.
- Start ice cream manufacturing equipment and check it for optimal functioning.
- Mix ingredients such as ice, sherbets, and custards in correct quantities to ensure that they conform to set recipes.
- Pour all mixed ingredients into manufacturing machines after setting the correct temperature and time.
- Ensure that the process of ice cream manufacturing is run smoothly by constantly monitoring the machinery.
- Remove ice cream from the machine by following strict removal procedures and ensure that it is placed in appropriate containers.
- Ascertain that the taste and texture of each batch are in accordance with the standards set.
- Store frozen ice cream in appropriate containers, in designated refrigeration areas.
- Tint and decorate molded ice cream with icing and toppings.
- Mix and cook toppings such as sauces and syrups to top ice creams.
- Handle inventory of supplies and ensure that appropriate maintenance is performed on utensils and ice cream-making machinery.
