Base award hourly rate for this role is $33 plus casual loading ($41.25 per hour for Monday - Friday)
About the role
Reporting to the chef manager, we are seeking a casual Chef to work in our kitchen team at our client's canteen facility in Dubbo.
Roster:
* Multiple morning and afternoon shift across Monday to Sunday. (6.00am pm and 11:00am pm)
* Casual permanent position for the right applicant.
*The successful applicant must have received at least 2 doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine, and provide a current Police check, or be willing to apply for one*
Skills and experience
* 3+ years' experience in a similar role
* Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
* Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings
* Reliable and punctual
* Collaborative and team player
* Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
* Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock.
* Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
* High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
Key responsibilities
* Ability to produce high quality meals in line with food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures.
* Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
* Assist with putting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties.
* Good all-rounder in kitchen i.e. scones, cakes, desserts, soups.
* Responsible for preparation of special diets.
* Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
* Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
