Sustainable and community minded vegetarian cafe in Marrickville is looking for a like-minded cafe / restaurant supervisor to join our team.
**About the Role**
We are looking for an exceptional cafe/resturant supervisor who has a positive outlook and thrives in a fast-paced cafe / restaurant environment. You will need to be passionate about customer experiences and quality food & drink. You must be comfortable leading the team from the front line and have a warm friendly demeanour that makes both customers and staff want to engage with you. You will need to be able to navigate the subtle balance between operational efficiency and fostering a warm and welcoming environment for guests. You will take ownership of the front of house team including to ensure its smooth operation. Extensive knowledge and experience in coffee and restaurant service styles highly desirable.
The role will involve collaboration directly with the the manager, owner, and head chef on ideas for growth and development of the business and an ability to translate these ideas into action with the team through your strong communication and influencing skills, attention to detail and persistence.
**About the business**
Two Chaps is a from scratch bakery, cafe and restaurant with a sustainable approach to all aspects of operation. We operate on a collective creative energy, a strong sense of responsibility with respect to food production and consumption, waste reduction and our engagement with the local community. Our ever-changing, produce driven menu is a product of our enthusiasm for working within the seasons and we have a strong focus on local supply and supporting like-minded producers.
All of our bread and pastry is made by hand, daily using sustainable and organic Australian flours. Our sourdough levain is the life of all our loaves and is used to produce a wild-fermented bread. Our coffee is roasted by Single-O Coffee Roasters and we often feature rotating guest specialty coffees from various friends around the country. Three nights a week we keep our doors open for an ever changing three course set dinner menu of handmade fresh pasta and local cheeses.

**Skills & Experience**
- management qualifications preferred
- minimum 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- minimum 1 year barista experience highly preferred
- warm and friendly demeanor that can build exceptional guest relationships
- restaurant experience style preferred
- ability to stay calm under pressure
- problem solving ability
- ability to manage a team
- effective at training and coaching others
- able to work a flexible roster including weekends and some nights
- strong clear communicator
- able to provide constructive feedback to staff
- able to receive open feedback from co-workers
- able to challenge others ideas in a constructive way
- experience in daily reporting (including cash up)
- follow and build operational processes that drive consistency and efficiency

**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
