Job Overview
As a Senior Clinical Practice Educator in Nutrition and Dietetics, you will lead the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of high‐quality professional placement programs, with a particular focus on developing and strengthening University of the Sunshine Coast's nutrition and dietetics clinics. You will provide leadership and drive innovative placement models across internal and external settings, build capability among clinical educators and facilitators, and ensure robust systems are in place to support student success, progression, and assessment. You will develop new clinic opportunities and ensure high quality placement governance and supervisor education and training.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of innovative nutrition and dietetics clinical placement programs across internal clinics and external partner sites
* Develop and maintain effective systems and approaches to enhance clinical educator and facilitator capability, support supervisor training, ensure quality supervision and assessment, and monitor student performance and progression
* Contribute to strategic improvements that enhance placement quality, enable efficiencies across programs, improve sustainability, and strengthen graduate readiness
* Develop and strengthen industry, community, and health sector partnerships to expand placement and clinic opportunities and support high‐quality placement governance
* Contribute to interprofessional education, academic collaboration, and scholarship or research activities that advance clinical education practice and impact
About You
You are an experienced clinical educator and dietetics professional with a strong track record in supporting high‐quality student learning in diverse clinical and practice‐based settings. You bring deep expertise in nutrition and dietetics practice, alongside a commitment to developing safe, effective, and innovative clinical placement experiences that prepare graduates for contemporary health workforce needs.
You are a collaborative and influential leader who thrives in building capability in others, strengthening placement systems, and fostering strong relationships across health services, community organisations, and private practice settings.
Qualifications & Experience
* A Master's or PhD qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent accreditation and standing, or extensive (15+ years) clinical dietetics experience across acute, ambulatory and/or private practice settings
* Recognition as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) or Advanced APD with Dietitians Australia
* Demonstrated excellence in clinical teaching or supervision, including student progression and assessment, across simulated, telehealth, internal, and external placement environments
* Experience in professional placement quality improvement processes and/or governance
* Proven leadership in the coordination, development, or improvement of clinical education programs, professional placement systems or student‐led clinic models
* Strong relationships with professional bodies, industry, and community partners, with evidence of partnership development and collaboration
* Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills that contribute to a positive, collegial, and high‐performing academic environment
* A commitment to ongoing professional development in clinical education, scholarship, and higher education practice
* Postgraduate qualification in education or higher education, or Senior Fellowship of Advance HE
* Experience in private practice, primary care or multidisciplinary clinical service management and delivery
* Evidence of recognition for excellence in clinical education, teaching, or scholarship
