The role of a chef in our organization plays a pivotal part in serving high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of residents.
This involves leading the kitchen team, overseeing meal preparation, menu planning, and ensuring compliance with food safety protocols.
Working collaboratively with various departments, the chef ensures seamless service and provides an exceptional dining experience for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve nutritious meals, including daily offerings, snacks, and special event catering.
* Maintain kitchen operations by ensuring cleanliness, stock control, equipment maintenance, and cost monitoring.
* Lead and support the food services team, fostering a respectful culture and ensuring staff completion of mandatory training and food safety standards.
* Ensure compliance and safety by maintaining a Food Safety Plan, adhering to OH&S and Aged Care Quality Standards.
* Engage with residents through collaborative menu planning, themed meals, and cultural celebrations.
Essential Requirements:
* Rélevant Qualifications
* Proven experience in supervising and managing a team
* Strong understanding of OHS standards
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred)
* At least 12 months' experience in aged care (preferred)
