Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Manager, Financial Crime Surveillance Institutional Banking.
As the Senior Manager, you will lead multiple specialist teams within our Institutional Banking division, including transaction monitoring, unusual matter reporting, customer risk decisioning, correspondent banking due diligence, and the Singapore transaction monitoring and screening team. The role supports Westpac's institutional banking business and focuses on creating strong risk outcomes while cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
This permanent role offers a hybrid working arrangement and can be based in Parramatta, Adelaide, Melbourne or Singapore. You will work closely with divisional partners and Group Financial Crime teams to deliver consistent, high‐quality customer outcomes and strengthen the first line of defence.
Qualifications
* Proven experience leading financial crime or AML/CTF operations, ideally within institutional or complex banking environments (essential)
* Strong people‐leadership capability, including managing specialist teams and driving performance (essential)
* Sound knowledge of transaction monitoring, customer risk decisioning, and correspondent banking due diligence (desirable)
* Understanding of financial‐crime typologies relevant to institutional banking products (e.g. trade finance, FX, corporate lending) (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of financial‐crime regulations, compliance obligations, and risk management frameworks
* Ability to use business metrics and KPIs to manage operations, drive efficiency, and support continuous improvement
