Health, Safety & Training Superintendent
Ora Banda Mining will be welcoming a Health, Safety & Training Superintendent to the team. The role will be based in the eastern goldfields and support Ora Banda's growing mining hub – Davyhurst, Sand King / Siberia, Riverina and Waihi.
Responsibilities
* Be accountable for the execution, leadership, and day‐to‐day effectiveness of health, safety and training systems at the operational level
* Translate corporate and principal‐level HST governance, frameworks and standards into practical, frontline application, ensuring compliance with statutory mining obligations, Company HST standards, and the Mine Safety Management System (MSMS)
* Lead the site HST and Emergency Response capability on the opposite panel to the site HST Manager and act as their back to back, embedding safety leadership into daily operations
* Coach safety advisors, graduates, frontline leaders and supervisors
* Verify critical risk controls in the field and ensure training effectiveness and workforce competence in cooperation with the site Training Coordinator
Qualifications
* Minimum 7–10 years' WHS experience within the mining industry (open pit and/or underground)
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a senior site‐based HST leadership role (Superintendent or equivalent)
* Demonstrated experience implementing Mine Safety Management Systems at site level
* Strong working knowledge of WHS (Mines) legislation and Principal Mining Hazards
* Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent)
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)
* Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001)
* ICAM Lead Investigator qualification. Proven ability to manage compliance reporting, audits, and risk control verification at a site level
* C‐class manual driver's licence
Eligibility
Candidates must meet pre‐employment criteria which includes a medical, drug and alcohol screening, and a valid National Police Clearance.
