Job Description

Job title: Speech Pathologist - Clinic/Community - Tamworth NSW Working hours: Full time or part time Salary offer: Competitive Salary Offer + CPD Allowance + Benefits

Location: Tamworth NSW About the company:

Our client is a locally owned mobile and in-clinic service based in the rural NSW town of Tamworth. Their multidisciplinary team consists of highly experienced Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists. The company prides itself on providing high quality, patient centered, evidence-based practice to manage the complex needs of people across the lifespan with Neurological and/or physical disabilities.

Services are delivered through a mixture of home/community appointments (with optional rural outreach days) and in clinic appointments. The clinic is a state of the art facility, equipped with dedicated consult rooms, adult neurorehab/paediatric gym spaces, and a large team room for notes/admin/breaks. They strive for continual improvement, innovation, sustainable practice and clinical excellence.

Therefore, they allocate time and resources to professional development, regular team meetings, in-service education, and social events. About the role:

As the speech pathologist you will be required to assess, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering and using voice. You will work with people who have difficulty communicating because of developmental delays, stroke, brain injuries, learning disability, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, dementia and hearing loss, as well as other problems that can affect speech and language. Additionally, you will support people who experience difficulties swallowing food and drink safely and managing their secretions.

You will be required to work independently and also as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive client outcomes. Being a mobile service, you will be required to travel to client’s homes and local businesses around Tamworth and its surrounds as well as in-clinic appointments. Due to the extra time that is allocated for travel and admin, you would typically be seeing four to six patients on a regular work day.

You have the freedom to inform admin as to the structure of your schedule and work hours, in alignment with the organisations goals. The caseload will be a mixture of NDIS and Lifetime Care clients. Due to the extent of our waitlist, we are able to cater the caseload to the therapists areas of clinical interest and experience.

A two week paid on-boarding/ training process will be provided, wherein you will spend time with the practice manager learning the business' software and systems, and attend joint appointments with our speech pathologists. Benefits:

Flexible Work Schedule: Designed for long-term job satisfaction and work-life balance. Unique Service Delivery: Work in our current Allied Health Center with dedicated consult rooms, purpose built adult neurological and paediatric gym facilities plus your own desk space for notes and admin.
