The Opportunity
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 Property Services Sectional Liaison Officers - HVAC & Parliamentary Service Level 6 Property Services Sectional Liaison Officers -Plumbing within Property Services Branch.
Project Delivery Branch operates within the Property Services Division, overseeing and delivering all capital works upgrades within Australian Parliament House. The Project Liaison Sectional Officer works between Project Delivery, internal stakeholders and external contractors to provide accurate, detailed information surrounding their area of expertise (Hydraulics and Heating/Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration) as it relates to Australian Parliament House.
The Project Liaison Officer position has been raised to ensure that relevant, technical information is provided across the project lifecycle is being provided and adhered to. Daily activities will include reviewing and providing comment on all project documents relevant to your field, conducting site checks and walkthroughs to ensure requirements/Standards are being adhered to.
You will be responsible for the timely, accurate response to stakeholder’s request for information, the generation of professional documentation, including Requests for Tender, responses to Requests for Information, and liaising with a broad range of industry experts.
This role allows you to apply your trade skills across a diverse range of projects in one of Australia’s most iconic and influential buildings. Your input will steer key decisions and outcomes within this field, providing a framework on which the next phase of the building’s lifecycle will rely on for guidance.
Who we are looking for
Our ideal candidate is a skilled, experienced qualified tradesperson who can clearly communicate with influence and calmness. You can communicate across a broad range of stakeholders, from tradespeople to engineers and senior executive, in a professional manner. The ability to use and access software, such as Microsoft Suite, Adobe and other various platforms is advantageous, as is any qualifications or experience in Commonwealth Government procurements.
As this role relies on industry knowledge, qualifications in the specific trade (HVAC-R or Plumbing) are required and must meet the qualification level provided in the selection criteria. Qualifications beyond the trade level would also be welcome to apply.
Job Specific Requirements:
• The successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

1. Provide clear and accurate communication concerning HVAC information between the Project Liaison Team and internal/external key stakeholders.
2. Prepare, develop, and implement plans and documentation surrounding the HVAC of Australian Parliament House in support of the Project Delivery, Contract Management and Maintenance Services teams.
3. Conduct quality assurance checks and document details related to HVAC across all relevant projects.
4. Conduct detailed review of technical design specifications, develop and review relevant operation and maintenance manuals and relevant training/handover documentation as they relate to HVAC across all relevant projects.
5. Provide high-level engagement with Project Liaison Team Assistant Director, relaying clear and accurate information regarding projects status, documentation and defects in a timely manner.
6. Other Duties as requested by the Assistant Director, Project Liaison Team

Salary
Currently, the salary range for this position is $90,634 - $101,866 per annum.
Conditions of Employment
Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
• Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
• Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
• Health assessment – a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
