Overview
At Flinders Medical Centre, the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program helps people with chronic lung conditions reclaim their independence — and this role keeps that program running. As the Administrative Assistant and Pulmonary Rehab Coordinator, you'll manage referrals, support the clinical team, and be the first point of contact for patients navigating their recovery journey. Responsibilities
- Assisting in the coordination and implementation of current and new procedures and processes in relation to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program
- Being the central contact for patients, presenters, medical officers and other health professionals while providing a proficient communication link for all stakeholders
- Maintaining an efficient waiting list system including the allocation of pulmonary rehabilitation patients
- Coordinating the screening and pre‐ and post‐pulmonary rehabilitation assessment clinics, including the creation and maintenance of clinic templates and patient transport
- Drafting correspondence, minute taking, processing discharge summaries and final reports
- Acting as a point of reference to patients, relatives, hospital staff, General Practitioners and members of the public to assist in the smooth running of the Respiratory Department
Qualifications
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively, prioritise work appropriately with limited supervision
- Highly organised with excellent time‐management skills
- Proficient use of computer software packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Sunrise EMR, and Health Track and Sentry Suite
- Self‐motivated with initiative, judgment, and common sense in performing duties
- Typing skills and Word formatting
- Experience in implementing new business systems and reviewing processes
- Co‐ordination of programs and working with various stakeholders
