Job Title: Logistics Director


Job Description

The Logistics Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing the transportation function within Western Australia, driving strategic and operational leadership to deliver exceptional service and performance.

This senior leadership position ensures the effective management of resources, compliance, safety, and cost, while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

* Operational Management:
o Develop and implement strategies that enhance service delivery, reduce costs, and improve fleet efficiency.
o Lead a high-performing team of logistics professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
o Establish and maintain standards for operational excellence, ensuring consistency in service delivery and continuous improvement.
* Planning:
o Strategically plan all transportation operations to ensure timely and efficient freight pickup and delivery, meeting customer requirements and expectations.
o Liaise with customers regarding delivery times, issues, and special transportation requirements.
o Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting plans and strategies as needed to optimize results.
* Financial Management:
o Effectively manage staff resources, company assets, and subcontractors, achieving budget targets and maximizing value.
o Monitor spending and labor allocations to ensure alignment with approved budgets and financial goals.
* Leadership:
o Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
o Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, promoting open communication and collaboration to achieve shared goals.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

* Proven experience in logistics and transportation management, preferably in a senior leadership position.
* Strong strategic planning and leadership skills, with the ability to drive change and achieve results.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
