A Senior Performance Test Engineer responsible for defining and executing end-to-end performance engineering for enterprise applications (web/API/microservices). You will gather non‐functional requirements (NFRs), design workload models, build/maintain test scripts, execute tests (load/stress/endurance), monitor systems, analyze results, and drive performance tuning recommendations with engineering teams.
Mandatory Skills
* 8+ years in performance testing/performance engineering with strong troubleshooting skills and bottleneck analysis.
* NFR collection, workload modelling, KPI definition, test strategy/plans, and performance reporting.
* Hands‐on with performance tools: JMeter tool, and K6 is a strong advantage.
* Monitoring/observability: New Relic, Splunk, Dynatrace (and ability to interpret infra/app metrics during runs).
* CI/CD integration for continuous performance quality engineering (PQE) using tools such as Jenkins/GitLab/Bamboo and scripting/automation to support pipelines.
* Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration across engineering, architecture, and business teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Partner with architect's/dev/product teams to gather NFRs, define performance goals, SLAs/SLOs, and acceptance criteria.
* Create performance strategy, test plans, workload models, and execution schedules aligned to release timelines.
* Identify critical user journeys and design test scenarios (load, stress, endurance/soak, scalability, volume, failover support where applicable).
* Develop, enhance, and maintain performance test scripts and frameworks; ensure standards and reusable assets.
* Execute tests, monitor runtime behavior using observability tools, and capture evidence for reporting and governance.
* Analyze results, isolate bottlenecks (app/DB/network/infrastructure), raise actionable defects, and recommend tuning improvements.
* Build automated/continuous performance test runs in CI/CD; create utilities to support continuous PQE where needed.
* Provide daily/weekly status and test summary reports, present outcomes and risks to stakeholders.
* Mentor junior engineers and uplift performance engineering practices across teams.
Qualifications & Certifications (Optional)
* Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science or equivalent experience.
