Support Needs Assessor (Australia-Wide)About the Role

We are seeking motivated and experienced professionals to join a national team delivering high-quality, person‐centred support needs assessments. This role focuses on understanding individual circumstances, analysing information, and producing clear, evidence‐based assessment outcomes that inform support planning and decision‐making.

Opportunities are available Australia‐wide, with roles based in metro and regional locations. Flexible working arrangements are available, including part‐time and full‐time options.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct structured support needs assessments through interviews and information gathering with individuals and their support networks
  • Analyse, interpret, and synthesise information from multiple sources to inform clear, consistent assessment outcomes
  • Prepare accurate, well‐written assessment reports that support decision‐making processes
  • Apply relevant policies, frameworks, and guidelines with sound judgement and professional integrity
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with individuals, families, and stakeholders across a range of settings (in‐person, virtual, or phone‐based)
  • Identify and escalate complex or high‐risk matters in line with procedural requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated service delivery and continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate records using digital systems and ensure confidentiality and data integrity at all times
  • Adapt assessment approaches to suit individual needs, preferences, and accessibility requirements
  • Contribute to team capability through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous learning
Skills and Experience
  • Robust background in allied health, nursing, education, behavioural support, or a related human services discipline
  • Experience conducting structured assessments, case reviews, or client interviews
  • Ability to interpret complex information and translate it into clear, evidence‐based reports
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical thinking, judgement, and problem‐solving abilities
  • Experience working in person‐centred, strengths‐based, and inclusive practice environments
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within deadlines
  • Confidence using digital systems, case management tools, and standard workplace technology
  • Understanding of ethical practice, privacy, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in allied health, nursing, social sciences, education, or a related discipline
  • Relevant professional registration or eligibility (where applicable to discipline)
  • Additional training or experience in assessment, counselling, rehabilitation, or support planning highly regarded
