The Landscape Maintenance Gardener is responsible for the upkeep, presentation, and health of client gardens, landscapes, and outdoor areas. This role requires hands-on gardening, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform regular garden maintenance and construction of new landscapes, including mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, mulching, weeding, and planting.
Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as blowers, whipper snippers, hedge trimmers, and mowers.
Plant, nurture, and care for seasonal plants, trees, and shrubs.
Identify and report plant health issues, pests, and diseases.
Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Follow daily job checklists, including before/after photos, and day reporting.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work vehicle and equipment.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in garden maintenance, irrigation, landscaping, or horticulture (desirable).
Sound knowledge of plant care, pruning techniques, and turf management.
Ability to operate gardening tools and machinery safely.
Robust work ethic with attention to detail and pride in presentation.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Good communication skills and ability to interact positively with clients.
Manual driver’s licence required.
