About the role
Damascus Health Services is a 44-bed inpatient facility with a dedicated day program unit located within Brisbane Private Hospital.
We specialise in treating individuals affected by alcohol and prescription medication issues.
We are seeking a qualified Registered Mental Health Clinician to join our established inpatient unit on a permanent full- or part-time basis.
Potential to discuss sessional opportunities within the hospital to support private practice (conditions apply).
As a Mental Health Clinician, your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and facilitating evidence-based group therapy for mental health concerns and addiction (CBT, Positive Psychology, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, etc.)
* Facilitating group therapy for patients with a broad range of moderate to severe psychopathology, including psychoeducation and skills-based sessions
* Having strong risk assessment and safety planning skills
* Collaborating with admitting psychiatrists, mental health clinicians, and nursing staff to ensure appropriate Care Planning
* Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills and working efficiently and effectively

Brisbane Private is a 181-bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 17 operating theatres, conveniently located above Roma Street Parklands. Our specialties include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, rehabilitation, and general surgery, as well as Brisbane's leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Health Services.
About you:
To succeed in your application, you will need to meet the following requirements:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications related to your discipline
* Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist
* Minimum of 1 year experience facilitating groups and one-on-one sessions
* Experience and expertise in delivering a broad range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, and ACT
* Clinical expertise and a commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement
* Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a high-functioning team
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated, and patient-focused
* Experience in trauma therapy and/or EMDR (desirable)
* Experience and/or knowledge in addiction treatment (desirable)
For Social Workers:
* Membership with the AASW with Mental Health Accreditation
* Master's or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
* Recognised endorsement of Clinical Psychology practice with AHPRA
* Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisor (desirable)
