About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and coordinate our head office shared services function and act as the key interface between head office and our operating sites.

This role is critical to ensuring that shared services genuinely support site operations—removing friction, improving consistency, and enabling our site teams to focus on delivery.

You will balance governance and control with a practical understanding of how to run effective, efficient head office operations that support the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate shared service functions across procurement, accounts, mobilisation, recruitment and client administration.
* Establish clear service expectations, accountability, and performance standards for shared services delivered to sites.
* Drive process standardisation where appropriate, while allowing for site‐specific operational realities.
* Act as the primary liaison between head office and operating sites across Australia.
* Work closely with site leaders to understand operational needs, constraints, and pain points.
* Ensure corporate initiatives are implemented in a way that works operationally—not just on paper.
* Identify continuous improvement initiatives across systems, workflows, and approvals.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, delegations, and regulatory requirements without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
* Manage and develop shared services staff, fostering a customer‐focused service culture.
* Build strong working relationships with Project Managers, Site Managers, and senior leadership.
* Provide clear, pragmatic advice to the executive team on operational impacts of corporate decisions.

About You

Experience & Background

* Proven experience leading shared services, business operations, or head office functions.
* Strong background overseeing administrative functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, mobilisation, and recruitment.
* Experience within mining, construction, civil, or heavy industry environments is strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to support site-based operations through efficient, well-structured business services—not direct delivery.
* Comfortable operating across both strategic oversight and hands-on management of core business functions.
* Strong operational mindset with a focus on process efficiency, consistency, and service delivery from head office.
* Commercially astute with a solid understanding of cost control, procurement, and workforce administration.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills—able to work effectively with both internal teams and site leadership.
* Confident managing systems, workflows, approvals, and compliance frameworks across the business.
