Introduction
Catholic Schools are seeking a temporary part‐time 0.6FTE Gifted Education Mentor Project Officer to join the team. The role will operate Tuesday to Thursday and focuses on High Potential and Gifted (HPG) learners, particularly those from under‐represented groups.
Position Description
* Leadомина colleagues to improve HPG student outcomes using evidence‐based practices.
* Evaluate and revise learning and teaching programs to meet the needs of HPG students and under‐represented groups.
* Guide the use of technology and digital resources to create inclusive learning environments.
* Plan and deliver professional learning focused on teaching HPG learners.
* Implement systematic processes for identifying and profiling HPG learners.
* Build respectful relationships with parents, caregivers, and community representatives.
* Demonstrate exemplary practice and ethical behaviour to foster a culture of high expectations.
Skills and Experiences
* Clear understanding and commitment to Catholic Education and the DHA mission.
* Demonstrated ability to ensure a Catholic perspective across the curriculum.
* Four‐year trained teacher with at least five years of successful teaching experience; accredited at proficient level.
* Ability to plan contemporary, compliant teaching and learning programs for HPG students.
* Effective classroom practitioner who improves own and colleagues' practice.
* High interpersonal skills for building constructive relationships.
* Excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills.
* Data‐driven decision making.
* Completion or intent to complete the Mini Certificate in Gifted Education (Mini COGE) or equivalent postgraduate studies.
* Innovative and agile mindset supporting continuous improvement.
* Experience supporting students in an online environment (desirable).
* Previous role in HPG Education (desirable).
Qualifications
* Four‐year trained teacher qualification.
* At least five years of teaching experience.
* Active NESA accreditation.
* Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
* Completion of anaphylaxis training.
* Current driver's licence.
Conditions of Employment
Salary is in accordance with the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland‐Newcastle Employees Enterprise Agreement 2019.
