The Opportunity
As we continue our journey of positive growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of major new build projects across the Sydney region.
Key responsibilities
* Engage with the procurement process by developing scopes of works and providing information to support the assessment of variations and claims.
* With the Design Manager, provide input into construction methodology reviews and recommend changes that increase construction efficiency and reduce costs.
* Management of all design and construction coordination issues, working with design consultants to confirm the design documentation.
* Consider design options, engineering solutions and value for money initiatives.
* Prepare construction plans and programs and monitor construction progress for the area of work against program and budget and report any issues.
* Identify and mitigate construction risk, communicate the project program to the team and identify key milestones for supervisors to support short range programs.
* Identify and manage construction risk for areas of the project, escalating issues to the Senior Project Engineer when required.
* Understand and comply with the sustainability objectives and requirements for the project e.g. NABERS/ Green Star.
* Engage with Supervisors to understand the logistics and program requirements for the project including work sequences, site establishment, inspections, and subcontractor plans for their areas of work.
* Support the project handover by contributing to the project completion plan, proactively managing defect identification and rectification with subcontractors and respond to client requests for information.
Requirements

* Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within the commercial construction sector.
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams.
* Solid understanding of subcontractor markets and construction methodologies.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects safely, on schedule, and to specification.
