**Job Summary**
We are seeking a seasoned communications expert to lead our media and communications efforts. As our new senior communications manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective public relations strategies.
**Key Responsibilities**
Develop and implement public relations strategies across various channels to enhance the organisation's reputation and brand awareness.
Proactively manage media relations, including liaising with journalists and media outlets to secure coverage and opportunities.
Support government and industry relations with ministers and multi-level stakeholders to advance the organisation's interests.
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Coordinate and provide support on events, including PR events, media briefings, and liaison activities.
Lead a team of 2 direct reports to achieve strategic objectives and deliver results.
**Requirements**
- Demonstrated experience in media issues management and a strong understanding of the media landscape.
- High level strategic communications and planning skills.
- Prior experience liaising with government processes and stakeholders will be highly regarded.
- Experience in a similar role within the public sector.
- Current Victorian Driver's License.
- National Police Check and Working with Children Check required.
