Project Manager – Commercial & Residential Construction - Cairns
The Opportunity
A well-established construction company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver a mix of commercial and residential building projects across Far North Queensland.
This role requires a hands-on Project Manager with strong Australian construction experience, capable of managing projects from planning through to completion. You will oversee project delivery, coordinate subcontractors, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure all works are completed safely and to a high standard.
This is an on-site role based in Cairns, suited to someone already living locally or able to relocate within a short timeframe.

About the Role
You will manage end-to-end delivery of construction projects across residential and commercial sectors.
* Managing multiple construction projects from initiation to completion
* Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
* Managing project budgets, timelines and resource allocation
* Ensuring compliance with building codes, standards and contracts
* Overseeing site activities and ensuring quality workmanship
* Managing risk, logistics and scheduling, particularly for remote projects
* Liaising with clients, consultants and stakeholders
* Providing regular reporting on project progress and performance
About You
You are a practical and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Australian construction and the ability to deliver both residential and commercial projects.
* Proven experience delivering construction projects in Australia
* Strong background in residential builds (homes, units, renovations)
* Experience across commercial construction projects
* Solid understanding of construction contracts (AS2124, AS4000, AS4300)
* Ability to manage projects in remote or regional locations (highly regarded)
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
* Ability to be on-site full-time
* Based in Cairns or ability to relocate
