Hussey Corp is a locally owned and operated business based in Weipa and Cairns, QLD who deliver a wide range of services expanding from Heavy Industrial Electrical, Civil Construction, Construction Project Management, Civil Concrete Construction and Plant & Equipment Hire.
We are seeking an experienced Fleet Asset Manager to take ownership of the performance, availability, and lifecycle management of our branch fleet assets. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the operation while maintaining strong commercial and data governance disciplines.
You will be responsible for fleet utilisation, maintenance coordination, asset registers, and system accuracy, working closely with the Branch Manager, Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure assets are safe, compliant, and delivering value.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain the fleet asset register within the ERP system
* Coordinate fleet availability, allocation, and scheduling
* Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs
* Monitor asset condition, utilisation, and lifecycle performance
* Coordinate maintenance providers and manage downtime
* Support commercial outcomes through accurate asset and cost data
* Oversee fleet-related inventory, spares, and consumables
* Conduct and reconcile stock counts and asset audits
* Ensure compliance with WHS, regulatory, and insurance requirements
* Prepare reports on utilisation, maintenance, and asset performance
About You
You are practical, organised, and commercially aware, with experience managing fleet or physical assets in an operational environment. You are comfortable working between the office, warehouse, and sites and take pride in maintaining accurate systems and well-run assets.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in fleet or asset management
* Strong understanding of maintenance planning and asset lifecycle management
* Experience using ERP or asset management systems
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* High attention to detail and strong data management skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability
Desirable
* Experience in hire, mining, infrastructure, or industrial services environments
* Trade, engineering, logistics, or business qualification
* Knowledge of WHS and asset compliance requirements
