Primary objective
This position is responsible for the maintenance of corporate knowledge and information including content on the Divisional
intranet, coordination of the in-house professional development program, delivery of training to legal services staff including
delivering the new employee inductions and maintenance of library database for all staff of the Attorney-General’s Department.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Maintain various indexing systems, templates and other repositories of corporate knowledge.
2. Assist in the identification, development and implementation of new corporate knowledge and information systems and
processes.
3. Maintain the content for the Legal Services Division’s intranet and internet and liaise with clients.
4. Coordinate the in-house training program and maintain a catalogue of events and sessions (that includes visual material, audio
material, video material, stored as electronic media) for legal practitioners.
5. Responsible for all operational aspects of the law library (print collection and on-line) which includes maintaining the database
and assistance in locating items.
6. Respond to IT systems queries for the Division, including Open Practice and TRM.
7. Deliver training including new employee inductions, administration processes, records management and other software
training for staff as required.
8. Prepare reports for monthly management meetings.
9. Ad hoc administration support as required for Legal Services Division.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, including report preparation, preparing correspondence,
coordinating support activities, and following written and verbal instructions, including IT guidance.
2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and record
management systems with a willingness to adopt new technology.
3. Experience in developing and delivering training and educational sessions.
4. Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to plan tasks, manage changing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
5. Experience in providing a friendly and efficient service and have a comprehensive understanding of what it means to provide
client service and work as part of a team.
6. Attention to detail with the ability to escalate issues, develop creative solutions and seek out positive improvements.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of library procedures, Open Practice, SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
2. Knowledge and experience in developing template documents.
