About The Position
This Database Administrator role sits within an enterprise government environment supporting mission-critical database platforms across on-premises and cloud ecosystems. The focus is operational resilience, performance optimisation, and secure hybrid database management.
You will contribute across the full lifecycle of SQL platform administration from configuration and clustering to monitoring, optimisation, and disaster recovery ensuring systems remain secure, available, and aligned to evolving technical demands.
What You'll Do
Design, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-prem and hybrid cloudImplement and manage Always-On Availability Groups, replication, clustering, and automated backup strategiesMonitor and tune database performance, resolving bottlenecks and optimising configurationsManage SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI reporting environments to ensure reliability and accuracy
What We Are Looking For
5+ years' experience administering enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environmentsStrong hands-on expertise in SQL/T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automationPractical experience managing Azure and/or AWS SQL database environmentsA proactive, problem-solving mindset with confidence working in structured teams
